Bureaucrats gone wild!
Who says those AARP dudes can't still shake a leg? This is what happens to people when they've been cooped up in the office too long. Ron "Hendrix" Coffey was a part of Midsummer's Night on Midway 2003 and 2004. His band, Dumbfounded, was a crowd favorite. To book them.......contact his people at ........aaah, just a joke!
Ralph May hasn't lost his touch. He is pictured with one of his band members, Dee Penn, who is a music teacher in Pike Co.
And they're off! The ducks were dumped off

And WHO were the lucky ducksters of the day? The first place duck (#202) belonged to Sally Scheeler, who earned herself a whopping $600! Mayor John Baal said 202 was extremely fast in the water and perhaps we should offer THAT duck to the highest bidder next year. Second place went to Danny Spooner Long, who won $475. Third place: Aiden Pearce Burke, $275; Fourth place: Penny Everhart, $100; Fifth place: Larry Chapman; $50; Sixth place: Sharon Binegar, $35; Seventh place: Roley Branson, $25; Eighth place: Deana Johnson, $15; Ninth place: Charla Matheus, $5, and coming in dead last was ... Ron Coffey's duck #114 which netted Coffey $20!
Yes, there were a courageous few who agreed --- actually they were strong-armed and coerced --- to pose for the Ohio Chautauqua/World War II calendar, which is being used as a fundraiser. And HERE is a sampling of those brave souls...
